Our Financial Model
How can we offer the most affordable private, Catholic education in the Boston area?
For nearly 100 years, Cathedral High School has been committed to providing a transformational Catholic education to all students, regardless of ability to pay.
At Cathedral, we walk the talk.
Our commitment is steadfast that every accepted scholar has a path of opportunity paved for them, and we don’t let finances get in the way.
$15,700 base tuition vs. $25,000 average
The average cost of a Catholic high school education in the Boston area is around $25,000, a very daunting number.
Here at Cathedral, we absorb significant costs upfront to offer a much more palatable base tuition of $15,700.
$7,850 Opportunity Grant for every scholar
Each and every admitted scholar is awarded the Opportunity Grant to cover 50% of tuition. The Opportunity Grant is Cathedral’s commitment to reducing financial barriers from the get-go and ensures no family pays more than $7,850 for their student’s annual tuition.
Up to 100% of a family’s costs are covered
Every Cathedral scholar is considered for both need-based and merit-based assistance, covering up to full tuition.
Your Generosity Fuels Life-Changing Opportunity
Our financial model is not magic. We are able to stand behind our mission thanks to the generosity of so many.
- Cathedral’s Board of Trustees along with incredible individuals, companies, and foundations partner with us and share our belief in the potential of our brilliant scholars.
- The Cathedral Fund, lifted by the annual generosity of Cathedral’s loyal supporters, fills the annual operational gap.
- Our historic $60 million Cathedral Now, Cathedral Forever campaign has created a mission-sustaining endowment that will fund Cathedral High School in perpetuity.
