“Many will consider our State Championship the success story of the season. But for me, it’s seeing all the hard work the young ladies put forth on and off the court to apply themselves and achieve a bond that can never be taken away from them.”
– Coach Clinton Lassiter
Scholar-Athlete Spotlight:
Ta’Qaire Bell ’26
Track and Field, League MVP
Football, Wide Receiver
Ta’Qaire transferred to Cathedral looking for a tight-knit community and culture. In his first year, he significantly contributed to the football team’s success, won league MVP for track and field, and broke the school record in the 100-meter dash. Ta’Qaire has done all of this while maintaining a stellar GPA and being active in the community off the field.
Coach Spotlight:
Derrick Beasley, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach
Athletic Director Derrick Beasley also serves as the head football coach. As a former New England Patriot, Coach Beasley is an incredible resource and inspiration for Cathedral student-athletes. His commitment to Cathedral High School’s athletic program and the development of our scholars – on and off the field – has not gone unrecognized. He has been named a New England Patriot’s Coach of the Week, was awarded the District Award of Merit from the MA Secondary Schools Athletic Director Association (MSSADA), and has led the football program to several playoff appearances since joining Cathedral.
