Here at Cathedral, we know how important it is for scholars to get involved with extracurricular activities – for personal development, for community connection, and to make them strong college applicants.

Soul Sisters

Soul Sisters is a club for young women – particularly women of color – to talk about world issues, share their perspectives, and build a sisterhood at Cathedral.

The group plans events and activities to make sure young women at Cathedral feel welcome, supported, and seen.

Barbershop Club: “Cathedral Cutz”

Cathedral Cutz offers free haircuts to the Cathedral community along with lessons to those interested in learning barber skills. Even more importantly, Cathedral Cutz offers a welcoming space to embrace our heritage and culture.

Three Cathedral scholars came up with the idea one summer, and with the support of a faculty advisor, were able to launch this brand-new club!

As seen in the photo, Principal Danso is a proud client of Cathedral Cutz!

“It’s all about connection. Being a barber is an important job in Hispanic culture, and a lot of cultures. Cathedral Cutz is a way for us to stay connected to our roots.”
